MGM Management Internship Program

MGM Management has run a successful internship program for over nine years.  Interns have gained valuable experience in the Arts and Entertainment field that has assisted them in making future decisions with their careers.  Past interns have gone onto and been placed with, work in the fields of Entertainment, fashion, television, film, arts administration, print media and radio. As an intern with MGM, tasks change from day to day.  One day you may be stuffing envelopes with invitations but the next you may be attending media appointments with an international artist or assisting in the coordination of an opening night of a major event.

Previous MGM intern

I began my internship at MGM during my first year of university, when I was just 18. After helping out in any way I could one day a week for 6 months, Michelle got me my first job as a Production Assistant on David Atkins' "Santa's Kingdom" at Fox Studios. It was here I first got my start in the entertainment world and I had the most amazing and memorable 2 months. I also made a number of invaluable industry connections, many of whom I still remain in contact with to this day.

After "Santa's Kingdom" came numerous freelance opportunities thanks to Michelle - audience wrangler on the television series "Popstars", paid promotional work on "Dirty Dancing The Musical" and the chance to work front-of-house at a number of opening night theatre premieres. Michelle then lined me up with a job as Assistant to the Company Manager on the smash hit musical "Fiddler on the Roof" featuring the one and only Topol. Again, I had the most fantastic 2 months and learnt so much working in the busy production office on such a huge show.

After my stint on Fiddler, Michelle, once again through her great connections, recommended me for the position of Editorial Assistant at the launch of a new celebrity magazine - FAMOUS. After interviewing for the position I scored my first full-time job and remained there for nearly 3 years learning the ins and outs of publishing.

Without Michelle's help I wouldn't have had any of these opportunities and I'm so lucky I came across her internship advertisement all those years ago as it really did set me on my career path in the entertainment industry.
